Hip-Hop & RnB lovers, who have an idea of the recent music discoveries in the Hip-Hop & RnB arena, will be amused and excited to know that Daja Marie, one of the most promising singer/rappers and song writers is coming up to release her entirely new music and songs written by herself. With major singers and artists performing songs written by her, Daja Marie's album is going to be a unique concoction of great music and interesting lyrics. No wonder people have been anticipating this for such a long time.

Fashion Editor for the popular “The Hype Magazine,” published by Jameelah ‘Just Jay’ Wilkerson, Daja Marie uses her middle name after the famous, great, late Tina Marie. The one word that clearly describes Daja is unique. Although she can be seen regularly at red carpet events of fashion shows, including famous Fashion Weeks among other high profile fashion events across the US, her teenage passion has been song writing, singing, and rapping.

Collaborating with Jameelah ‘Just Jay’ Wilkerson, CEO of The Hype Magazine, who has the same interest in the field of music, Daja plans to release the best of the songs written by herself.

Apart from being a fashionista with a unique sense of fashion, she is equally good in music. When she was asked, "what is the best compliment she's received from her audience," she said the most important ones are "When you Rap, you sound like Snoop Dogg" and "When you sing you sound unique.”

Although she was keen about singing from childhood, interestingly, her career in singing was started in church, where she got a standing ovation for a solo performance at age 8. Since then, after loosing her grandmother that she once called mom, from the age of 19, she has been gearing up for this move. This was the time when she understood that this is what she really wanted to do. Those who have watched her perform, describe her as random and humble, yet outspoken. If there is a modern day "Left Eye," then it is essentially Daja Marie.

Hailing from Marion, Indiana, Daja had a very painful childhood. With her mother being young and naïve, she started using drugs and abandoned her motherly duties which were picked up by Daja’s grandmother. Daja’s father committed suicide and she had to go through tremendous shock and loneliness at a very young and tender age. All these are expressed through her music and the songs that she writes which have a cathartic effect for her.

However, despite all odds and obstacles, she is now ready with the best of music that is going to be released this fall/winter of 2014. Her single "Bank Rolls Like Monopoly" is the most awaited of her songs, releasing this season. Her confidence in her talent is that which makes her stand apart from the rest of the crowd.
